ONE THING Artemisia Capillaris Extract

4 reviews

Artemisia Capillaris Extract boasts a strong name and this formula works just as hard to calm skin and get it glowing.

Commonly known as Mugwort, this botanical is traditionally used to treat inflammation, bacterial infections, circulatory disorders and many other ailments. It’s particularly good at solving skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis too.

Eczema often occurs when there’s an extreme change in the skin’s temperature (think cold winter and hot sun). This potent extract lowers the skin’s temperature thanks to its cooling and soothing benefits to help balance a complexion and prevent these dry, sensitive skin disorders from flaring up.

Rich in vitamins A and C as well as Niacin, Mugwort is also an excellent antioxidant, helping to keep skin’s elasticity intact. It’s equally adept at reducing redness and pigmentation, creating an even, balanced and luminous complexion as a result.

  • Artemisia Capillaris to soothe skin, treat redness and pigmentation and get skin glowing
  • Butylene glycol, a humectant to prevent water loss

As with all types of mugwort, Artemisia Capillaris works brilliantly to target dry, irritated skin. But it’s the extract’s potent brightening, calming and nourishing properties that solidifies its status as a must for all skin types in need of a little extra healing and luminescence.

Complete game changer. I wasn't expecting much but I've repurchased this and the Houttuynia Cordata extract and now use them AM and PM. My skin is more even, calmer, softer and between them both I'm now suffering less breakouts too. This one really does brighten the skin as well in a way I'd usually see with Vit C (not currently using any other products like vit C that claim to brighten, and the difference is noticeable). Usually I just splash some in my palm and apply. I'd love to see Tonic 15 stock One Thing's cotton rounds jar that you can use these extracts with, and the larger bottle size. When they sit on the skin at length soaked in cotton the results are incredible. Addicted!

Super calming and soothing

I have been struggling with a compromised barrier on my chin for a few months after leaving an acid mask on too long. Combining this toner together with the Hottuna Cordata one sorted it out in days. All redness, irritation and breakouts were gone in just days. It absorbs beautifully and soothes immediately.

Good skin prep:

This was a runny toner that’s good for initial skin prep just after cleansing. Absorbs really quickly and feeds your skin hydration before other hydrators or antioxidants land next unto your skin. Usually best use in the AM when you needed brightening and skin glow.

A fuss free tonic

It's very easy to use - it's thin, not sticky and sinks in seconds. It doesn't leave a residue, mixes well with all other products on top of it and gives a smidge of moisture. Couldn't say about the non-inflammatory effect though.

After cleansing, apply this extract in a variety of ways. Use it as a toner and let it absorb into skin; soak cotton pads in it and apply them to your face for a bespoke sheet mask; dispense it into a spray bottle and use it as an on-the-go mist; or add a few drops into your favourite moisturiser to reap its benefits by multi-tasking. Follow with a serum and moisturiser.
